EVERY WEEKEND, A LITTLE SOMETHING SPECIAL AT NALA

There’s always something happening at Nala The Campus, and this weekend is no exception!
From 16 - 18 October, we’re joining the excitement of Better Days Market 2.0 at The Campus Ampang with a special offer and a little inspiration for your home.

With so many interesting things to discover around the market, it’s the perfect excuse to make a day of it. And while you’re here, why not drop by Nala The Campus to see what’s in store?

A Little Treat for Your Wardrobe

We’ve got a special T-shirt offer for the weekend! Spend RM150 in a single receipt and you can add one selected T-shirt, originally priced at RM69, for just RM34. Whether you’ve had your eye on a particular design or simply want to add something new to your wardrobe, it’s a good opportunity to pick up a favourite while stocks last.

Bring a Little Green into Your Space

Inspired by the plant-filled atmosphere of Better Days Market 2.0, we’re also putting our terracotta plant pots in the spotlight. Available in small (RM49) and big (RM59), they’re an easy way to add a little character to your home. Style them with your favourite plants and pair them with our table runners to make you space more unique.

Sometimes, it’s the little things that make a space feel like home. A new plant pot, a beautiful print or a small addition to your table setting can make all the difference.

Something big is moving.

We’re moving! Don’t worry, we’re not leaving Great World.
We’re simply moving to a new location within the mall, but where exactly is still a little secret.
You’ll soon see some beautiful hoarding going up, and all will be revealed in due course.

I’ve been so incredibly busy lately that most of my best ideas seem to happen somewhere between takeoff and landing. In fact, I’ve been sketching the designs for our new store on airline sickness bags. Don’t ask me why, but somehow they always give me the best ideas. Perhaps it’s the lack of distractions, or perhaps there’s something about being 35,000 feet in the air with nothing but a pen and a paper bag.

Whatever the reason, I’m incredibly excited about what we’re creating for our new home at Great World.

First, however, we need to make some room!

We’re bringing out everything from our storeroom. Plates, bags, scarves, homeware, accessories. You name it, we’re bringing it out. It’s the perfect opportunity to discover something beautiful, perhaps even something you thought you’d missed.

Almost everything will be on sale, with the exception of our ALOHA collection, which will remain at its regular price.

Think of it as a little treasure hunt. You never know what might be hiding in our storeroom, and I can’t think of a better way to celebrate our next chapter than by making room for something new.

What a JAM!

Over 150 people. One incredible artist. A whole lot of strawberries. And a day I won’t forget.

Our official opening of Strawberry Fields at JAM PJ was everything I could have hoped for, and more. Our collaboration with Jefr from Jeffrey and Studio was absolutely wonderful. Watching his artwork come to life and seeing everyone enjoying the collection was such a special moment.

But what really touched me was how many of you came. Friends, family, loyal nala fans, familiar faces and new ones. Some of you have been supporting us for years. And so many of you had never even been to JAM before!

Now you know where it is.
And what a wonderful place to discover.

Everyone got to taste the incredible wood-fired bagels from Sonny Bagel Shop and those absolutely amazing sourdough doughnuts from HALO.

I love supporting the wonderful independent businesses around us. That’s what makes JAM so special. We’re not just opening another shop. We’re becoming part of a creative community.

The collection:
Four different T-shirts, beautiful cushion covers, caps and prints of Jefr’s artwork. We still have a few art pieces left, too.

Not to forget those adorable mini strawberry bags! Everybody loved them. For the lucky ones, we still have a few left. Make any purchase at Strawberry Fields and receive a FREE mini strawberry bag, while stocks last.

There’s always something happening at JAM, especially on weekends. Art, food, interesting people and little discoveries around every corner.

But most of all, I want to say thank you.

To Jefr for this incredible collaboration. To my team for making it all happen. And to every single one of you who showed up, brought friends, bought something, shared a laugh or simply came to wish us well. Over 150 of you. I am genuinely touched.

You made our opening so much more than just another shop opening.

And the best part? We’re only getting started.

Strawberry Fields at JAM PJ is open daily until 8pm.

Come and visit us. Bring your friends. Have a bagel. Eat a doughnut. Discover something new.

And come say hello.

With love and a whole lot of strawberries. ❤️

After our little soft opening, Strawberry Fields is officially opening at JAM, PJ, and I am incredibly proud of what we have made.

We’re launching our new streetwear collection and our collaboration with Jefr of JEFR Studio. Jefr will be there creating a live mural on the day, so you’ll actually get to watch the work come to life.

There will be music, street art, strawberries, refreshments and, naturally, peanut butter and jam sandwiches. Because really, what’s JAM without strawberries?

And we have a little something for you too.

RSVP before you come and receive a limited-edition Strawberry bag with any purchase on the day. We only made a small number of them, so once they’re gone, they’re gone.

What’s JAM Without Strawberries?

It started with JAM.
Our new home in PJ is called JAM, and the minute I heard the name, my brain went straight to strawberry jam.
More specifically, strawberry jam and peanut butter sandwiches, which I absolutely love.
And from strawberry jam, somehow, we arrived at Strawberry Fields.

LISETTE

Of course, we didn’t invent the name. Strawberry Field was a real place in Woolton, Liverpool, close to where John Lennon grew up. It was a Salvation Army children’s home, and Lennon spent time playing in the grounds as a boy. Those childhood memories eventually became part of the inspiration for The Beatles’ Strawberry Fields Forever, released in 1967.

The actual place was Strawberry Field, singular. The song gave us Strawberry Fields. And somehow, all these years later and very far from Liverpool, there is another Strawberry Fields. Ours is in PJ.

I love the name. I love our new logo. And I love that this nala store is going to be a little different. We’re going streetwear.

There are T-shirts, bags, strawberries, stickers and a few other things we’ve been playing with. It’s younger, a little rougher around the edges and very PJ.

And PJ is really close to our hearts. I used to live here in 1973! We were also lucky enough to do the branding for JAM itself, which makes being part of this new place even more special. We’ve watched it take shape, and now we get to move into something we helped create.

We love PJ. We love the slightly chaotic, crowded jam of it all. We love the bagels, we love the doughnuts, and now we get to add a little Strawberry Fields to the neighbourhood.

This weekend, we’re opening the doors.

Saturday, 26 September, from 10AM at JAM, PJ.

But please be kind to us. This is a soft opening. We’re testing the systems, figuring things out, moving things around and almost certainly discovering a few things we forgot. That’s precisely what a soft opening is for.

The big one comes on 3 October, when we officially open Strawberry Fields.

For now, come and see us. Have a look around. Tell us what you think. And if you want one of the first Strawberry Fields pieces, come quickly. We made very, very few.

And Now, the Pots.

And Now, the Pots.

And Now, the Pots.

When you think about it, it’s actually quite strange that we haven’t done this sooner.
Almost everything at nala starts with a plant or a flower.
I draw them, we turn them into patterns, and then we put those patterns on dresses, bags, cushions, tablecloths,
walls and just about anything else that will let us. So naturally, we’ve moved on to the flower pots.

We did actually make a few during lockdown, when we had had the time to make all sorts of things we had been thinking about for years. But somehow, the pots never continued. Until now.

The Campus Ampang is holding Campus in Bloom from 30 September to 4 October, filling the place with plants, flowers, orchids, workshops and all things green. It seemed like a rather obvious moment to bring our pots back.

They start as simple terracotta pots, which we cover by hand in nala fabric. Luckily, we had Sahin and Sulaiman at HQ, who found the time, and patience, to make every single one.
They are pretty incredible.

There is something I love about taking something as ordinary as a terracotta pot and completely overdressing it. Especially when the thing you’re putting inside it is probably the very thing that inspired the pattern in the first place.

We only made a few, so this really is a small batch. They will be launching on Wednesday, 30 September, exclusively at our store at The Campus Ampang.

Come for Campus in Bloom, find yourself a beautiful plant, and then, obviously, find it something fabulous to wear.
